Atlético Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup last night with a nail-biting match against Real Madrid held in Tallinn. The UEFA Super Cup, played between winners of Champions League and Europa League, has been won by a Spanish side for the last 9 out of 10 years, and this year's edition was no different, as both the finalists were from Spain.
Diego Costa opened the scoring for Atlético as he netted the ball from a tight angle in the first minute. Karim Benzema equalised at 27' with a header from near post, and captain Sergio Ramos added the lead with a penalty at 63'. But Diego Costa struck once again at 79' and took the match to extra time as 2-2. Saúl Ñíguez bagged another goal for Atlético at 98' and Koke added a fourth at 104' to make Atlético Madrid the champions of European club football.
