After Pogba-led Manchester United got past Leicester 2-1, Tottenham, being the first team in Premier League history to not make a single transfer in the pre-season transfer window, also got over Newcastle with the same score, with goals from Vertonghen and Alli for the Spurs and Joselu for Newcastle,all coming in the first 18 minutes.
Chelsea eased past Huddersfield 3-0, with goals from Kante, debutant Jorginho and Pedro, while Bournemouth beat Cardiff 2-0, Fraser and Wilson scoring for them.
Watford and Crystal Palace defeated Brighton and Fulham respectively, both matches ending 2-0, with Pereyra scoring two for Watford while Schlupp and Zaha scored for Crystal Palace.
Wolves drew with Everton 2-2, Neves and Jimenéz scoring for Wolves while Richarlison netted two for Everton. Southampton vs Burnley saw the first 0-0 draw of the season.
Liverpool hammered West Ham 4-0, two goals from Mané while Salah and Sturridge got one each. Meanwhile, champions Manchester City showed that they still have dominance of the last season as they beat Arsenal 2-0, with Sterling and Bernardo Silva scoring incredible goals.
